Hi need a bit of help with a good staring point for the swingingarm angle and frame angle needed for my project.
Its a yam fzr swingarm monoshock in a 550 kat frame
What would be a good starting point?
pic of swingarm and shock linkages
wheel and swingarm
Thanks
Nigel

Take a chain set of the configuration you'll be using and fix it to the bike. Take a good look at the swing arm pivot then, make sure the swinger isn't too steep so that the chain will be about to eat its' way through the swinger top. Adjustable dogbones will give you an additional possibility for later setups once you have welded the shock mounts.

Best way would be to get a look at a same model FZR and take some measurements. top shock mount in relation to arm, bottom mount where th linkage bolts to frame, also shock angle and arm angle. Then transfer that as best as possible over to your frame.

Thanks guys, think I`l try Peddas idea first and see what it looks like and get some ref dimensions.
I tought the same as you Mal but finding it difficult to find an FZR 400 or 600 ( some models have the same rear suspension apparently) to measure. Even went down my local yam dealer hoping they would know if a customer had one or even a manual with some decent pics or line diagrams. No joy with that but managed to find some manuals on the net with line diagrams so have printed them and measured the relevent bits.
Hopefully they will all tally up.
will let you know how I get on.
cheers again
