I'm assuming genuine is the way to go for this job! Or am I wrong?

To be honest I personally would, more expensive but the aftermarket ones I have experienced and not just off the bay of evil never seem to seat properly.

I would echo the sentiments of Fossie.
I would also compare the items side by side as my Skruffy Kat appears to have a different master cylinder.
If you have problems with it I can recommend a company called Past Parts. They did a complete refurb of mine, including replacing the decidedly dodgy level window.
If I get my computer, or more likely buy a new one, I'll post up some photo's of the work they have done. At the moment if I connect my camara to the wifes laptop I'm left with a picture than can only be described as "Still Life Study" by Bill Gates
