How much oil for an oil and filter change on the 650 Kat.

It will say somewhere near the filler. Then maybe another 100cc for filter ;-)

Al, the manual says Oil change 2.5L filter change 3.2L & overhaul engine 3.7L

Thanks for that, 2500 ml, it's under the rubber bellows on the clutch cable.

Al you will find that after you have added 3.25 ltrs it will look full in sight glass, however after running it you will need to add 1/2 ltr for the gearbox. It is filled through the sump but after the engine is run.
Remember there are 2 drain plugs . The one on the sump and one just behind frame by gear linkage. Don't forget that one or the fresh oil will be diluted with old oil straight away.

Fossie,
I would certainly have missed the second drain plug and wouldn't have added the extra 1/2 litre of oil for the gearbox and worried like mad where all the oil had gone.

All done, you were absolutely spot on Fossie, about 1/2 litre came out of the second drain point. The bike then took a full 3.25 litres and a couple of top ups after starting up.
