As i just found out, rotten eggs are what your battery smells like when its frying. I thought i might have run over something and it got stuck the the exhaust but after close inspection i found my battery to be completely dry.
After recently replacing the stator and changing the Reg/Rec wiring so it does not go through the loom the battery was fine. Could it be over charging?

Sounds like it's over charging to me................have you checked the battery voltage when the bikes running at 6000rpm?

If so what sort of voltage DC is it putting out?

I'd not got around to doing any testing yet but i assumed it was over charging. Ive done about 700 miles since i changed the stator and shortly after i did notice some small traces of battery acid on the swingarm but i put this down to when i had to lay it over on the right side.

Anyway seeing as the battery is dry and probably fooked i'll wait till i top it up with fresh acid before i do any running.

I didnt do any testing after i put the new stator in either. Didnt think about it at all.

I finally got around to doing some testing and it seems the battery is getting about 22 volts at normal idle in both wiring configurations of through the loom and by passing it and going straight to the reg/rec. I will be ringing Electrex to see waht they can suggest but i thought i would trow it up in here too and see what comes of it.
