550 front fork swap - any ideas ?

hi all
Does anybody know what forks/stem or preferably complete front end fits into a 550 frame ?? over on OSS somebody says a gsxr750 bolts straight in with no mods, does anybody have any other ideas? doesnt have to be USD forks, the main reason is to get the 17" wheel and better brakes.
