Allllrightey after a really good run of having no problems something has come up. I fitted a remote ignition and alarm just for the hell of it and after a few weeks of having it on some weird stuff happened. After some berserk behavior from the electrics i took the alarm off to see what happened.
It seems the battery is not charging whilst its running so i sent off the reg/rec to electrex world to be tested properly and its OK. I only replaced it in Feb so it should be fine.
If i ride whilst not using the lights then the battery tends to hold charge better and i can start it on the button. Not sure if the alarm has killed the battery or something else is busted.
Any suggestions?

see what sort of charge you are getting to the battery.

Once the battery is charged it seems to hold well with the engine off and the lights on so thats OK. Im jsut looking up on the electrex site at gennie testing methods.

engine running, lights on, ac output should be around 70 volts across each pairing of the three wires.

sack the alarm, buy a big lock and chain instead. alarms are useless, nobody takes notice of them and thieves would have to be midway through nicking your bike before they notice it, whereas a big chain says 'FECK RIGHT OFF' from 20 paces away. no pro tealeaf is going to be robbing a kat anyow, theyre all into breaking into houses to nick keys for blades and ducatis. put a big chain through the wheel and lock it to something solid.

from work experience, most burglaries are for vehicle keys
visual deterrent (or a shotgun) always best

Alarms and imobilisers should never , ever , ever be fitted to motorcycles , they drain to much amps and tapping into an exposed wiring system ain't such a good ploy!
Consign it to a skip asp.!
Your problem is obviously due to the lighting circuit, Have you wired the alternatior direct to reg/rec, or just joined everything as Suzuki errorly did.?
