You may remember that i mentioned one of my spark plugs was cross threaded. I did manage to get the old one back in back it was really tight to do all the way up. Now....assuming that the thread is poobar, apart from a helicoil or whatever its called, and not wanting to take the head off, is it possible to tap the hole and try and recover the thread ? obviously the main problem is if any bits of metal fall down onto the piston right ? i have heard that if you are very careful and put grease on the tap it keeps bits from falling down ?

So what you reckon ? I was thinking of taking the bike out for a run (what   ) and then doing a plug check. But i do know that that plug is old and was pretty black.

Ding ding seconds out. Round 2.

All mine were really tight coming out and going back in, was waiting for one to snap but it didn't, and they were old plugs i put in so when i get round to some new ones.... snappy do time

You could try and clean the thread with a tap, put the piston at TDC and rig up something to attach to the dyson to vacuum any bits out after...Don't blame me if it all goes wrong though :|
