Petrol tap gaskets

Post by callyboy » Wed Jan 12, 2011 9:05 pm

Have to swap over my petrol tap onto another tank and was wondering if there is a cheaper way to do the gaskets than the £15 odd quid the kits seem to cost. Not a huge amount, but its all adding up :( is there a petrol friendly liquid gasket ?

Cheers

Be gentle and you wont need gaskets.

Watcha Paul. The small ones that were on the two bolt holes just fell apart. The large one that runs round the outside looks ok. albeit a bit flat and hard( as opposed to rounded and soft !!!).

Pete and gentle in the same sentence! Thats a new un!

Drop me a PM with your address and I will send you some dowty seals for the 2 bolts.

Try boiling the larger main tap seal in Boiling water to make it more supple!

Oh and Dont use gasket sealant m8!

Cheers bobster.

Not quite the same as mine. Mine dont have the cross connection bits. just straight seal all way around.

bit like this:
