Hi Mal

I was assisted by another Kat owner and we measured with a straight edge 8mm to the edge of the front wheel rim on the left hand side and 28mm on the right hand side.

I"m up in Lincolnshire at work during the week but will have another look at the weekend. Just got to do a vertical alignment check with a spirit level to prove it"s not got a twist in the swing arm.

We could be looking at a couple of hours in the company of a wheel builder.

I was under the impression that they just fitted with no issues

or else take 10mm off the sprocket side spacer, add 10mm to the brake side spacer. leave the sprocket carrier alone and put a 10mm spacer behind the gearbox sprocket. the shaft is long enough and the splines are long enough to allow you to do this and still have the sprocket on the splines.
if you dont fancy a 10mm spacer on the front, take the rear sprocket off and flip it over, if you look it is machined about 2mm in on the outside, flipping it round means that you gain that 2mm at the back and so only need an 8mm spacer at the front.

Hi guys,
looking at the pics it seems you have fitted the wheel as per the book.
Indeed hub is the same as spoked GS1000s and GSX750s.
Looking at my SXZ parts list though, I noticed the RH inner spacer (the one that is "touching" the rear disc) has a different part number to the alloy-wheeled 1100 Kat's.
Could be worth checking :
SXZ spacer : Figure 8, part 7 on drawing, reference 64740-49000
SZ spacer : Figure 78, part 5 on drawing, reference 64740-45001
;)
