650 header clamp broken
I have an original 4 into 2 for the 650 kat. I also have a dilemma one of the header clamps is broken. So does anyone have one please and second how the hell did Suzuki fit them?

Re: 650 header clamp broken
They were fitted before the pipes were welded to the silencer / collector.
An alternative could be the centre pipe collects from an 1100/750 SZ/SD .they are in 2 halves , I think they may still be available.
I have some motad ones that you could have but you'd need to cut them in half to get hem on then alloy weld back together.

Re: 650 header clamp broken
How about cutting the flared end off the top of the pipe, putting the clamp on, then welding the flared pipe end back on. Easier than welding alloy, and the welding scar should be hidden by the clamp. Does that sound feasible?

Nothing screams poor workmanship quite like wrinkles in your duct tape.

Re: 650 header clamp broken
It would be easier probably, but you may have to make a complete new top of the pipe because the metal will be compromised .

Re: 650 header clamp broken
Thanks for advice. I also have motad type but would look odd. I also thought about top end of pipe. My idea was grinding the outer sleeve off and fitting new header clamp and fitting a new sleeve to replace.
