Post by pat-64 » Thu Mar 04, 2021 6:50 pm

Hi there I have a small problem with the rev counter/tachometer on my 1982 1100 Kat,the tacho reads true and fine till 2000rpm after that it becomes slow sluggish and won't rev beyond 3000rpm even though the engine revs out fine ,its an electronic tacho if that helps, cheers for any imput .

Hi.

That’s an interesting fault with the Tacho.

My big bruv Fred61 has the gizzards of a tacho that he was looking at with a view to doing some repairs. Think he found out that the IC was no longer in production.

I’ll give him a nudge and see if he’s made any more progress..

Quite a common issue ...pop ups are even worse ....as said seems to be a transsummat in the 'lectrix side of rev counter that suffers from old age....
