Modern oils in an old bike can play havoc, I always use the same viscosity that is stated in the handbook (if it has a handbook) fully synthetic oil in an older bike can screw up the valve guides and cause clutch slip, as these bikes are nearly forty years old now you have to be prepared for some 'characteristics', another good idea is to use super unleaded fuel as this contains little or no ethanol, old bikes don't like ethanol, bike looks great and that looks like a nice place for a cuppa.

It's not uncommon for rebuilt machines that have stood to behave so. As stated before seals need to swell to bed in.

In the late 80's we got a fleet of brand new Volvo F10, they all used oil for 25000miles then used non at all, this was actually in the handbook as normal.

So all good now ...

I’m reluctant to give up on it because 1) I hate being beaten 2) I don’t like admitting I’ve been ripped off, the bike in my eyes at least looks stunning and obviously had a lot of money spent on it, just not on the engine obviously  The main reason I bought it was so I had something to ride that I enjoyed while I concentrated on the resto on my T500 Suzuki.
At least it looks nice when it’s parked up
When a bike looks this good mate keep it up,it’s worth it :)
