i am prompted to wonder whether the control relay from a pop uop headlight car like an mr2 or porsche924 or any of the several other cars with pop up lights might be used to power the light on a se kat, after all, they all do the same thing, and the car has 2 units on it cos the lights tend to be seperately controled.

Ok Chris, fault finding time...
For Canada I assume the headlight turns on with the ignition? If so, you don't need the diodes or connections G and F - just connect pin 86 of the top relay to a +12v switched supply (pins A and H).
With a test bulb (or a multimeter) check the woltages on pins B and C while the light is going up and down.
They should both be high most of the time, but low when the light reaches its down (pin B) or up positions (pin C).
These are the signals that cause the motor to stop in the correct positions.

Let me know what you find.

thank you so much been trying everything i even started from scratch with the relays diagnosing it myself to build a set,i know its a good motor because i went to visit ted cymbaly in toronto and my motor worked perfect but as soon as i pluged in my controller it stated acting up,thanks again hopefully tomorrow i can try your idea,thx

ok just gave it a quick try and not getting the proper results i have removed the diodes and wire going to that relay is that the top relay that i am running a wire from pin 86 or is it the other relay the way the picture is on here there is a left and right relay and do i leave all the wires plugged into the harness from the relays or do i remove the a or h wire and plug the pin 86 by itself,and i did a voltage test on the connector going to the controller and came up with this, e is constant 12v h f and d are switched power and g is ground all the other wires go to the motor sorry for being a bother but i really want to get this not only for me but for the kat guys up here in canada i know 2 others that are having popup problems thx so much for your help

Arrgh... Not just that joke - I've just checked the FSM and Canadian (E-28) models have a different controller with different connections. Borrocks.

So, the pin letters on my diagram are not correct for Canada - sorry for misleading you Chris.

The description of the connections is correct though, so its a question of puzzling out which connection from the controller goes to which connection on the bike.
The problem is that the wiring diagram in the FSM does not have pin numbers on it, so you can't be sure that the order of the connections on the diagram is the same as the physical order on the controller...

I think (guess) that the purple numbers on the diagram below should work.


In the meantime, if you just want to ride the bike you could disconnect the motor and manually wind up the headlight so it's permanently up?
(cue Viagra joke).

a good part of the reason i bought this bike was the cool factor the way it looks and the electric headlight was really cool i thank you for all your help but i wired it exactly as in the diagrahm but it dosnt show wires 4 5 and 6 but i tried it anyway and it didnt work i have about 40 hrs in now trying to get this system to work and i have gone from loving it to hating it its so aggravating so i am going to scrap the factory system and look into linear actuators theres 2 wires and 2 relays and i know how to wire it,i thank you all again for your help and when i get the new system sorted i will post it on here,thx again
