They're not Proper Ohlins, just Ohlins badged std shocks, not really any better than any other piggyback shocks fitted to std bikes, they're from when Yamaha owned the most part of Ohlins, would guess they came off an XJR400 or 12/1300.

The best Ohlins fitted as std are the 07 onwards XJR1300, thems the proper stuff. comp, rebound and ride height adjustable. they'd go very quick on ebay etc though.

Hi just a word of caution when fitting a 180 rear wheel, when I was doing mine the chain run was sooo very tight against the tyre and frame that I went for a 160 option. I was using a 530 chain too. I didn`t want to cut the inside of the frame out to get enough clearance for the chain run and not rub the side of the tyre.
The other thing to bear in mind is that different brands of 180 section tyres are different widths too, some nearer 190 mm.
You could look at using a 520 chain and maybe off setting the centre line of the wheel over a few mm as well to give a little more.

Thanks for the advice Nigelkat, I had the same chainrun problem with my popup kat.
So I fitted a 170 tire on it. The chain runs 0,5 mm clear from the frame (sometimes just takes a bit from the paint)
And it also runs a few mm free from the tire.
Also used bigger sprockets to keep it clear from running to much over the rear swinger.

So I might fit a 170 tire in stead of a 180. I also don't want to cut and weld the frame.
But I will see how it fits, I found a Bandit 1200 rear wheel, might pick it up next week or so if the price is right.
