Earth part 2

In between trying to bleed my front brakes and cleaning the house !!! i noticed that my brake light is on all the time. It was working fine, and i am just wondering if this is a earth related issue as well. its since i had that problem with the starter and instrument lights not working at all(solved with a earth from the battery to the frame).

any ideas ?

Disconnect the front brake light switch wiring and see if it goes out.....if not theres a problem with the rear switch or you have it over adjusted.......spray some WD40 on the switches and have an adjustment session.

Orange wire: is live feed to switch

White wire is: switched live to bulb

Black and white wire: Earth to bulbs ( unless you have used some black wire)

Watcha Bobster, just been checking the rear brake switch and it needed adjusting just like you said obviously bleeding the back brake put the adjustment out. Couple of screw on the plastic nut, and it works fine.

Is it going yet ?.....well.....not at the moment but i am hoping in the next day or so i am going to be brave enough to put a petrol line on it and fire her up. I think (fingers crossed) she will start ok. she started up before the stripdown so should be ok. Turns over ok. Will have a quick looky at the ignition switch just to make sure that the contacts are ok(sometimes takes a couple of prods to work).

Cant get the front brakes bleed at the moment(after putting the old nipples back). not getting any more air bubbles, but lever not stiffening up will have another go tomoz. maybe a loose connection somewhere.

Was going to do the extra earth thing today, but ran out of time.
