Bandit 1200 Front End Help Please?
Hi
I have a 99 Bandit 1200 front end for my 1100. I know I need to 'give attention' to the lock stops on the yokes, but how much? Do they need fully grinding off?
Also - will I be able to use the original Kat clip ons? If not, is it best to get GSXR1100 ones? In what size - 43mm?
Thanks in anticipation (I'm on a roll with the rebuild)

Hi, you will need to fit the kat stem to the bandit yoke, grind of the lock stops on the bandit bottom yoke, then dill and tap 2 x 8mm holes and fit stainless allen bolts as lock stops. as for clip ons the kat ones are a no, but Triumph 600 sporty one have 43mm clip ons and they're smart.
Good luck, I have done it to the wifes Kat, and am doing it to the one i'm building now, would post pics but don't know how.

FBJ - The easiest way to put pics on here is to open an account on photobucket (free) and load all your pics up to there. And then copy and paste the image code that is given to each pic. Its really simple.
There you - more advice

Thanks as usual. Just to confirm - can I leave the lock stops on the Bandit top yoke alone then?
As for the bars, I have some GSXR ones that should polish up well but I suppose any decent 43mm ones will fit. I'm going to have a look at the Triumph ones you mention though. Are you talking about the ones from a TT600 or the Daytona 675?
Cheers

Hello mate. Not sure which model the bars came from. You can't just use any clip on bars. Some are designed to mount to the the top yoke. U want the ones that clamp to the legs. With regards to the lock stops. If they're not in the way leave them. Pete. Thanks for the advise.

Cheers. I've had a look on E*ay. I can see that the TT600 ones would work but they are so similar to the GSXR ones I've got so I'll use them. I understand about them clamping to the fork legs.
Also - I'm planning for acceleration as discussed before and have looked at 17 front and 48 rear sprockets. Are the original ones 15 and 42 do you know? I don't have a manual or anything...
