I didn't know they were thinking of doing this. The secondhand market will be buoyant once that comes in I should think! I'm sure it can be turned off if required (for track use) but it'll still record what you are doing for use should something happen. But it is unlikely that we will evade these new regs. We will have goods manufactured to EU standards in the main, because of market volumes. The UK will be a subsidiary market compared to the EU.

So don’t expect a flood of air cooled monster bikes and howling 2 strokes to hit the showrooms any time soon.

I know Jim, hence the smiley face, looks like we'll be suffering at the hands of 'ze Germans etc' for many years to come, if the regulations don't wipe our bikes off the planet then new emission laws will, hot on the heels of the imminent London ULEZ, my council have just sent out a letter to all local businesses saying it will soon be illegal to leave your engine running on idle for too long, it doesn't state how long or how it can be policed but soon you'll have people starting their cars up on a freezing cold morning and instead of waiting for the engine to warm up the heater to clear the windscreen they will just jump in the car panicking in case a police officer or somebody from the council is around the corner then drive into the nearest tree or parked car 'cos they can't see where they're going.
