Guy Martin. Speed.

Post by busatoon99 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 8:14 pm

Did anyone see TT racing nutter and all round top bloke Guy Martin on ch4 last night ? He was attempting to become the uk's fastest cyclist (yeah no motor between the wheels !). He did a lot of his training for the attempt in his kitchen on a static bike. Parked in the corner was a road bike that you could only see the back of. It was only the occasional glimpse but i found it frustrating that i did not recognise it as ive been in to road bikes for over 30 years. Finally during the last scene in his kitchen they showed a very quick side glimpse of it. My jaw hit the floor and i froze in disbelief as i was treated to one of my all time favorate bikes, the very rare and exotic Bimota V-due ! ! ! The bike that broke Bimota !
The only bike in the world that i would want more is one of the late great John Britten's v1000's !

I wonder why he really did not have another go at getting 100m and therefore printed into the guinness book of records ? The excuse that the weather was closing in (for a water based record attempt) seams a bit lame (north wales and good weather are a rare occurance), and there is no questioning Guy's bottle. To do what he does round the tt course requires a fantastic amount of skill and huge testies !

i imagine the invasive hand of elfen safety had something to do with it. remember this isnt guy martin trying to break a record, this is a tv production company trying to make a tv prog featuring guy martin. whilst his name is on the credits, hes just an employee of the tv firm. they werent about to risk their moneyspinner when they already had the footage in the can.
