If you want to ride this summer then ride it scruffy then start restoring in october so you get it done for next year (it'll always take longer than you think)

If you have another bike to ride then restore through the summer, much easier when it's warmer to get motivated.

Depends how much time you have on your hands. If you set your mind to it and you are organised enough you can strip a bike down and get it painted etc and back together in next to no time. As long as there are no major issues

No dilemma at all, no mechanical attention needed ride the bloody thing.

Buy another, 1 to ride and a spare to restore.
It took me 5 years to put mine back together, if you have a garage or room to work in, ride in 'summer' restore in winter, yes it will take longer than you think and a lot more money

I change crank seals on 1100efe's with engine in and together, just loosen the 2 crankcase bolts nearest then dig out the old seal, think i used a chisel last time, hammered it in at an angle and levered it out, make note of which way reound the new one goes and gently tap it back in, use a thin smear of gasket sealant on the outer edge. can't see the 750 being much different so it's worth a try if it mean you don't need to stip the motor.

Or you can drill tiny 2 holes in the seal , diametrically opposite each other and then screw in a self tapping screw into each hole then lever or pull against the screws avoiding possible damage to the sealing face............cos if you scratch or score the sealing area it'll destroy the new seals in no time at all. Or never seal again! And you dont want that!

Either way be VERY carefull around where the oil seal is in contact with the crank.

This is how I changed a crank seal today:

Hammer a screw into the seal until I can give it a few turns to sit tight. (No drilling necessary nor wanted as you never know what funny ways swarf might find).
Then I took some gripping pliers and a hammer shaft and levered the seal out easily.

then take the old seal as a cushion to hammer the new seal home.
Jobs a good 'un and only took minutes.
