In general many Brits have projects in shed ...known as 'man caves' here, whether it's an old Brit, an old jap bike brought over from the US..we have companies who specialise in bringing in stuff from the US as you seem to abandon them before we do ....it is no so uncommon to see 80-90s stuff used as everyday transport.
There are many sheds that have lawnmowers ,cars , agricultural machinery undergoing restoration/ repair.
There are many clubs for these were people have skills and help each other out. Or armed with a manual will have a go . The clue is Man cave ! Kettle/ beverage, planet rock on the radio and out of sight!
We even have a lawnmower museum!
Why don't you use the garage to work on them and store them. I think I'm the only person I know that uses their garage to park in, and my Katana shares the 2nd space with a beer fridge and tools, Wifie parks her wagon on the street.

Most folk in Southern California use their garage as a personal storage, or in Mexican neighborhoods rent it out to another family or two. In the mid west (flyover states) they have basements, so they get to store there crap down there, but here, it's not a two car garage, it's boxes of shit you will never touch again.

Next time one of my neighbor has their garage door open, Ill take a pix and post it.

My garage has all my Katanas in it a workbench, and loads of spares .."the work bike lives on the drive , the cars live on th street.
However a garage here in the UK is not the norm, as land is quite tight , so a shed in the garden is more usual.....some sheds however are rather large! Spare rooms also get used ....man cave is not actually any thing other than an area where a male can escape to to 'fettle and while' ...a Yorkshire term for looking busy while wasting time thus not having to do other stuff... But to be honest most bikers in UK are pretty hands on.
