Makes you wonder what happens with things which are how they are before the date if they ever bring it in? it wouldn't surprise me if they were to bring in and only apply it to motorbikes in this country. They hate the things and any way to get them off the road would be a bonus for them

why do you think they exempted pre 1960 bikes from the mot. its a slippery slope. but when mag was talking about this stuff 10 years ago, everyone accused them of over reaction,,,, and now if you change an engine, the dvla want it inspecting and certifying with reciepts.....

The EU have been trying many ways to get us in line with them, type approval was the last big thing. Which was beaten back for now........TA is basically what we described earlier in this thread.

However the EUrocrats Did get their way with our licensing laws. Hence it so complicated now for youngsters to get into bikes .... We had a simple 49cc. 125 cc then bigger bikes .......now after 49cc it goes on KW and HP up this for 2years then another test, then another .......by this time the kid has abandoned the idea and done one test in a car and can drive anything !

High vis is an example of an EU rule that makes sense in one country. But not others, in France after 9pm it is pitch black for vast swaths of the country they don't have street lighting hence the reflectors on helmets, but here The country is much much smaller and we have led street lights in most places, but then again in France high vis isn't the normal wear for 90% of the work force. Due to over zealous HSA and litigation so a biker would stand out here the said biker just blends in!

Don't forget once they implement their way on bikes ......which they have already on the haulage industry...cars will follow.......then you'll see rip off Britain!

Anyone else for this soap box?

I think you are right. In case you stay in the EU-Zone.

They installed Tüv in Turkey and they aren't even close the EU. I heard that Tüv scrutineers in Turkey are likely being killed these days...
They can't impliment it then seeing some of the death traps on the Turkish roads!

Think they need to have a Tuv for Turkish roads as they are some of the worst in the world

but the turkish police might have other things to do. imagine giving the officious over zealous little hitlers of the british police the tuv handbook to beat bikers with. people dont realise just how stict they are likely to get. pirrelli tyre on your bike hasnt been approved for it by suzuki, so its banned, or you can have a pirrelli, but only in this size that suzuki has dictated. whats that, small indicators? led bulbs? toyota mr2 headlight? ban ban and ban, and let me check here, hmm are you sure thats a 13L paintjob? looks like a nissan silver to me,,,,,,, this is the reality of what we will have imposed on us.
