If you look up the 1980's bmw R65LS you'll see a very familiar profile. Target styled bikes for bmw before they designed the Kat, and the LS 650 boxer has what is effectively a Kat style fairing but for a round headlight, cleverly it also used the clock casings as a sort of screen effect, I believe Brian inn Cornwall once owned one and came to a club rally on it (lymm rugby club iirc).

Interesting how such a small fairing totally changes the look and by the way, still looks modern by today’s std.
