650 kat is one of the most comfortable mile munchers you will ever ride. dont dismiss it as a tourer. me and sue borrowed fossies a few years back and went up to glen uig on the west coast of scotland with the club. we were two up in the company of many kat 1100s and a couple of thous as well as pop ups and propper 750s, the 650 held its own everywhere except the long sweeping high speed roads over glencoe, where it ran out of steam at just over the ton with us both on it, everwhere else it was perfect, and it never returned less than 50mpg from begining to end. id have one. in fact i have, i bought the one we used from fossie after he had stuck another 150 thousand miles on it, and its still sat in the back of the shed forlornly waiting to be given its head....
