I must say at the starting price I'm tempted on a punt on this!

Anyone near Lockerbie if I needed short term storage while I sorted transport if I stick a bid on?

Got ask mate , what is there there that is worth £200, I mean yeah possibly if you sold all the bits in small parts for little money , but in all honesty ..all the bits you may need that are 400 only are either goosed , require just as much work as refurbing your old bit.....or just not there.! :?

For £200 quid there's quite a bit there I think, much more than that I'd agree with you! I'm going to check the tank is hole free with the seller. I do have some parts - most notably, I have spare clocks. Other bits do come along and if not, well there's lots in Japan, they just cost more to get here. Given prices 400 can go for, there's a lot of scope to buy things if it's low enough. And if it is too far gone, then there's parts to keep my 400 on the road, CDI, carbs, engine, etc - they might be goosed, it's a punt.

I think it could well go higher though (what can you get for £200 now a days, even my PC50 which was a tad rough, cost me £350 and that was the cheap end)?, with transport though realistically I can't go much higher - that 650 cafe racer thing went for £790.

Think that bike bad/rough have a look at this one just listed on evil-bay;
Suzuki GSX 400 1984 Katana barn find

I have just purchased the Katana at J B Motorcycles. This I hope will just be the case of looking after, but still, need a project bike (Katana 400 or 250?). Rocking horse Sh$t??? Reading your comments I think I will need a bike that is largely complete but requires restoration.

If Uncle Bob you are on way up or down to Lockerby and you passing near Cullercoats I can put the kettle on for you!

Mmm, it's had a bid, so it isn't going to be cheaper than £200... I still wouldn't be surprised if it made £400-£500 (which is way to much for me).
Did contact seller, tank is OK (has petrol in) and loom chopped at front unfortunately.
