Mmm backup plan failed, as I have phoned a couple of importers of Japanese bikes to see if they could source one but they weren't interested.

So, either fly to Japan and ride one back, write a book about it, get the royalties and retire :-D or wait and see what comes up again.

Couple of options ....contact Alexandre's in France he has mates over in Japan, if they source one cheap enough and check it out , there is a company who collect crate and ship bikes to UK.

Contact shipping company to source what you want ....I 'll find name later.

Or wait until another turns up ....which I will as in recent times more and more are getting offered unreg'd .

The fly in the ointment is budget.......or the basically the disparagee between yours and theirs.

Already in the ice bath with the Stanley knife :-D

Keiren was my first call of the backup plan! To be honest you can look on the web and see quite a lot of Katana 250's on various sites in Japan and get the prices for guide, but he was telling me 250's are hard to get and prices are high (time to sell Kidney coming up...). Anyway in the end he didn't seem interested, as he didn't take my number. He was saying between 3 and 4k for one. Called Motorcycle Gaint as they import but that was "we wouldn't do that bike" and called DK to see if they have any more coming over but they were unsure and just have to watch EBay.

The quest continues. Possibly the one just lost was worth a higher bid, but then I don't know what the other guy was going to. As Fossie has said before, us Katana owners tend to under estimate the prices of our bikes.

That's an idea - I might bug Alexandre at some point...
