Not really disagreeing but we all 'know' what it is and what a Katana is
Advertising it the way it was means that some poor sod may well think he's bought the 'rarest' of them all........

I really liked it, but 'special build' and 'tight budget' are two phrases I don't want to see together.

What is an Inazuma, did we Yankees get it with a different name?
So if I put a Bandit motor in my Kat is it now a Bandit? I was thinking of registering it as a Bandit since there is 1k in back fees on the Kat. Here in the US we can get away with all kinds of plate swapping. We have nothing even close to Mot (not even sure what that is) and it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

No my American friend ...the Katana is the style , once a Kat always a Kat ....back fees ? You need to edumacate us in your strange ways of ....what ever you lot do.
An Izuma is basically a Japanese market naked bike made along the lines of the old GS range ...that's the proper GS range (from 78-82 2 valves per cyl ) not like you lot anything 4 stroke from the 80's

Re: Interesting ..is it, isn't it?
Not a Kat, but I would be stupid enough to buy it.
I think we may have to establish some rules as a club. It could be that it's only a 'real' Kat if Suzuki called it that. Anything else would have to be 'in the style of'

Re: Interesting ..is it, isn't it?
Mmm... okay.
The UK didn't get Katana teapots did it?
I forgot all about the AY50 Katana.
Maybe it's a Kat if we decide it is? On a case by case basis. We would have to see if it captured the spirit of Katana, then issue a certificate. There. Sorted.

The U.K. did not teapot Katana's BUT grey imported one came in from Yank land ....don't forget we didn't get 750 S1 or S2 Kats but we have them curtosey of the grey market! So you couldn't exempt grey imports just to vanquish teapots from memories
No our motto is Suzuki motorcycles inspired by target design ....that covers it ...and the Izuma replica Kat fits the bill

So "back fees" are fees you accumulate from failing to pay your registration. The state won't come after you, but you can't register your cycle until you pay all the "back feels" and some fun fines also.fossie wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 6:00 pmNo my American friend ...the Katana is the style , once a Kat always a Kat ....back fees ? The bloke who had my bike before me stopped paying in 2009, so my fees are 900 US dollars, I'm assuming thats like 599 pounds.
Hey thats funny, we measure weight in pounds and you in and you in kelos, but your monetary system is back to pounds.
