It's not monkey hanging country for no reason! Legend has it the monkey was the sole survivor of a sunken French ship as was dressed in the French hooped shirt as it was a mascot , but the locals had never met a French man before and because it refused to give up secrets it was hung as a spy!
( part of my family is from there ...)
