I feel that finding fault with obvious unusuability of certain items of that layout misses the point really. Albeit some of his artworks were done as a plan for real bikes, this is not a blueprint for a coming project whatsoever - it's just the result of a designer playing around with his drawing devices in his spare time. In fact, he brings home the bacon designing BMW motorcycles, so I assume he knows one or two things about motorbike usuability in daily life. He didn't care about that, obviously.

There are just some points which I find remarkable:

- A man who's job it is drawing some of the most technoid bikes on the planet got an eye for the Katana design, which we all know how old it is
- That man is only 23 years old, strange enough he knows the Katana at all
- His concept is boiled down to an idea of a sporty dragster
- He misses the sheet on the fairing - just like the pristine concept of Target Design had been
- He calls it Icon 1000

- And most of all, just like johnr says: the Katana design had always been and is still able to have folk in verbal exchange. Even in the Katana Club. Weird, eh?
