Post by Savav2v1 » Tue Dec 05, 2023 1:49 pm

Hello

I'm going to look at an engine (only) that is said to be a katana 1000, been told engine number is

GSX10X-100406

I believe its fitted with vm33 not vm32 carbs, any information greatly appreciated and yes.... happy Christmas to you all

Yes that seems to tally number wise, also on the lower front left side of the barrels it has 998cm…..

carbs are measured on the engine side, theyre all vm32, though back in the day, plenty were bored out biger to flow better. if you put your calipers on the airbox side you can get a measurement of 33mm, but theyre probably 32's and you should be able to see if theyve been bored out.
having said that, well worth having cos a set of vm32's in good nick will fetch £500 plus on their own.
