Wanted / Search

Post by HeikoJ » Wed Jan 10, 2018 3:35 pm

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am not sure, if this is the right place, but I´ll try it.
Because of my age I would like to change a few things on my Suzi.
First of all the upper fork bridge (GS Model), to install a LSL Superbike handlebar,
Brake fluid reservoir with adjustable brake handle (Bandit),
Footrests from the export model, perhaps with extension (LSL)
and last but not least upholster (?) cushion the seat (Original Target -Design)
Now my wanted question:
I am searching for the passenger strap/grip. Bay? no success, USA? fantasie price or tax or shipping.
Is there a hidden source in the UK?
I am just satisfied with the two holders at the shock-absorber.
Please H E L P

Hi Heiko, on my bike I’ve adjusted the handlebars by angling them back towards the fuel tank and it has made the bike much more comfortable and less of a stretch (I’ve only got short arms  ) I’ve also been looking for a strap for my Kat. There is one on eBay
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2321943500
But at that price it can stay there! I’ve managed to buy a grey strap minus fittings from eBay seller old-school-covers who sell reproduction Kat covers. The pop studs are easily obtainable and I’m going to make my own shock absorber anchor points.
Hope this helps, Paul
There rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Hi Paul,
this is what I called fantasy....
The strap including the press studs(?) will be done by my saddler.
But the challenge I see are the eyelets (?).
Sry for my bad Englsh.

All of a sudden people want straps !!! We didn't get a strap here in the UK. BUT I have an old one which I am sending to PaulD so he remake one , maybe he can help along these lines.

As for the handlebars Blix has carried out a decent conversion amongst others , they will be along to point you in the correct direction.

Good evening folks-

@ Fossi: all components are in place, just the f..... strap is missing. By the way, my veteran numberplate is NI-GR 71 H - H for "historic", which means lower tax and insurance ;)

@ Blix : you are right, but I think it is no break with the official line up. I mean optical.

Hello HEIKO,
I saw a picture of your KATANA; is it a 1100 ? Because I would like (for mine)to replace the guidon bracelets by a handlebar like what you did on your bike; to have a position more relax closer to the roadsters.
I am seeking some advices:
1) Have you changed you upper fork bridge with the one of a specific model that makes possible to fit any handlebars with clamps?
2) Have you found longer accelerator and clutch cables? (from other motorbike models?).
I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you for your help.

top yoke from a chain drive gs1000 will fit on the kat forks and let you fit standard bars.

Thank you John for your swift response. On my side, I am a new member and did not realized I had an answer. I will look on that direction.
Have good and safe rides.

just be sure its from the chain drive gs and not the shaft driven one. the shafty (gs1000g/gs1100g) has different stering geometry and so the offset of the forks and spindle are miles different. its the chain drive one you want.
