Front forks

Can anybody help. Just found some 750 ET forks on eBay and wondered if the internal stanchions will fit the 750 S sliders or or is it possible to fit the whole fork legs From the ET. The spindle position on the ET fits forward of the centreline of the stanchion and the S in line with the centre of the stanchions. I know this could completely mess up the steering geometry ?? Or even improve it. Alternatively can anybody suggest another alternative. Cheers Pat

Part number is "51110-49300" and Partzilla only lists that as for the 750 / 1000 / 1100 Katana. Looking at the Tarozzi replacements it implies the ET ones are 671mm long whereas the Katana ones are 615mm.

You could buy 2 of those at around £240. Or wait for some good 2nd hand ones to come along. I opted to get mine hard rechromed which was £160 at PhilPot's
http://www.amphardchrome.co.uk/. I seem to remember you were in St Albans so just up the road for you, at Luton. I think they always have a long lead time - mine were about 8-9 weeks from memory. There are other places.
My only criticism of PhilPot's was that the Katana leg is slightly narrower for about 50-60mm above the bottom bush (around 36.5mm) and they didn't grind that back in so my legs are 37mm all the way down. I assume Suzuki made it narrower for a reason. I did email them to say but they never responded. Oh, there was other issue in that they don't clean the masking wax off from the process. I had just keep pouring boiling water down the tube until I was happy it was all cleaned out, but I'm sure they could do that there end with an industrial steam cleaner or the like.

Hi Rob. It seems nothing in life is simple. Being a bit of a tight arse I thought I was being clever. I think I'll just get them rechromed. But appreciate your time effort and information. Cheers pat
