Oh John, yes, the box is ever so practical, but... just no.

I think the bike is undergeared too, so I will try the bigger front sprocket when my new chain has worn a bit

Well John , when we met at the traffic lights at Peel green a few weeks back my V storm had a top box on and panniers and a 40 litre transportation box strapped to the back seat so a Givi box seems a touch underluggaged!

Hi Fossie. A V Strom looks naked without all the trimmings.... Do you actually put anything in all those boxes! (Lookin' good, BTW).

Here's a handy little tip for you all. If your seat lock cable comes adrift, (or you forget to fit it when making up bracketry... Doh!) You can get to the seat lock by removing the four 10mm bolts holding the back mudguard on, lets you get a hand in to release the catch.

Final jobs done, fitting a replacwement clutch basket for the rattly one, much better. Ready for the classic bike show at Skipton this Sunday, nice ride, friendly little gathering.

Smallkat, I missed your last post about the carbs. I have a spare set for parts with floats and bowls if needed. So sorry I missed that post, hope you dont think I was ignoring you.

In reply to your question about panniers in use John ...the answer is yes always all of them ..
The left pannier is mine! It has my flask , butty box, waterproofs , tools incl puncture repair kit , A-z for Gtr Manchester, Cheshire , merseyside, Derbyshire , spare ratchet strap, scott oil refil bottle ..
The right pannier has a 7ltr biolological transport box , first aid kit , bio spill kit and lithium battery airconspessor.
The top box has bio transport box in . As does the 40 litre box on seat ...only not carrying samples / blood on out journey to start of run max 15 mins ..then back to lab after multiple collections max time out 1 HR ...back to lab .. repeat for 12 hrs ...200 miles A day..

Aaah, now I remember. You charged into the M way roundabout at Brookhouse, gave a beep and dissapeared in a cloud of dust and discarded McDonald cartons. Respect!

BTW. Has anyone else noticed the damping adjuster thumbwheel at the bottom of the rear shocks? Quite surprised to see such a luxury. Playing with them, but can't realy notice much effect.

Hi Smallkat. Don't want anything for them, They were cheap so I bid and won. More interested to see if yours responds as well as mine. I'm going through hospital tests at the moment, when I know where I stand I'll let you know and we can schedule a day to get these fitted.

Nice one John. No rush.

In the last 10 months, I've had two stays in hospital, countless consultant appointments, blood tests and poo tests, 1 x chest X-ray, 3 x CT scans, 1 x colonoscopy and a (last throw of the dice) MRI scan. Been waiting 5 weeks for someone to even look at my MRI! So I wish you well.
