my bike worked fine but it ran rough on idle, I took the carbs out and gave them a quick clean it worked great but it then had a hole in the fuel pipe... so I needed to take the carbs out again, after I put them back in again 2 cylinders aren't firing... before I remove the carbs again is there a better way to remove the carbs? I'm currently removing battery/battery tray/air filter/undo clamps.... man handle carbs out
Its just I'm worried I'm damaging something.

I think all the Kats are the same, I know my 1100 is! The only tip I can give is to use a heat gun of some sort to soften the inlet and air box rubbers which helps a lot. I noticed on mine the inlet rubbers where marked L & R and they did seem to go back easier when they where put in the correct side?

Before you pull them out again, which I agree is a pain in the arsenal, have a look at the wiring for the coils. You might find that during the removal struggle one of the blades has come away/broken.

I'll take a look but the problem is its 1+2 that's not working

I would personally spray we 40 on the choke slide bar and work it until it slides easily. Sometimes the cable operation stops the return completely of this bar so some choke is on and some not.

As for refitting carbs , yep hairdryer on the rubbers, fit to the airbox first , tighten the clamps ...but not very tight. Then with soften inlet rubbers push the airbox forward , it will resist a it then plop on.

Or be like me and don’t have the air box, makes life so much easier and running so much worse

Personally I use a B&D paint stripper gun, loadsa uses including warming up crankcases to fit bearings etc

Paul Kats being 4 stroke don't require frequent crankcase bearing interaction. What you going to do in the spare time?
