Hi all, i have just bought a set of Marving pipes for my pop up and the company says they fit without modification.... how can this be when i will have to cut the two outside header pipes? My mufflers are welded onto the outside pipes. Is this normal? Has anyone else cut thier pipes to fit aftermarket exhausts?

Sorry for late reply , one of our members fitted some of these to his pop up and they work well.
In answer to the question do you need to cut the welds. Yes .
I have a set for a 1100 and in all honesty the instructions on where to cut etc are a bit vague.....but they are Italian !
No modifications is mean in the respect of not needing to alter the carb settings.
Once you have cut the old silencers off at the welds the down pipes will slip into the new silencers and look like OEM , unless you look really close.

Anyway, as fossie mentioned i fit a set of Marving pipes to my pop up. Overall i think the pipes are good value for $$. They look good and sound good! The fit is annoying and not so straight forward as they advertise.... even after cutting the header pipes the fit is loose and requires GunGum or some other exhaust sealant. I wouldnt rely on not changing the carb settings.... after fitting the pipes my engine ran very lean and burnt out my exhaust valves!! The Marving was not the only cause but it was the final element needed to cause me a top end rebuild! After fitting these pipes, keep an eye on your sparkplugs!

Cheers Bob , we may be I a position now to get headers made by a club member ...ish... So if we got these marving pipes we could have OEMstyle for sale as a club .
This was project I started a few years ago be got stalled
We would naturally need to take on board advice from likes of yourself We could get a boss added to take up th slack.

which wemoto said were right for my pop-up, but are not even close to fitting. I think the ones they list for the 750 ES/EF look closer to my original mufflers: https://www.wemoto.com/parts/picture/mv-s_2044_nc
Can anyone who has bought and fitted a set, confirm if the ones they got look like the first link (integrated mounting bracket) or second link (double studs, to bolt the existing mounting bracket to) .

The first ones are not for a pop up ....if it lists 750 & 1100 it can't fit a pop up.
The confusion comes when the age is given with 750 katana , wemoto list an 83-84 katana in there listings , which is actual the S2 Japan market only, but the years clash with the pop up.
When ordering any parts for a pop up never mention katana unless it is bodywork. Everything else is 750 ES, ESD , ESE , ESG...apart from front brakes and forks incl anti dive.

Aye that'll be the mothers......however I would try contacting Marving in Italy first and see if they can supply you direct. £354 seems a "touch to much ..." ( for 3 points
