gs550m
Hi there i have just bought a 1983 gs550m
every thing on the bike has been stripped by the seller who was going to turn it into a scrambler ,
is there any website i can go to see detailed photos of where it all fits on the frame.
i have been looking for a complete donor bike at a reasonable price but its not easy
any help appreciated

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Pop into the “Say Hello” bit and give a brief intro. Also add photo’s of the bike/pile of bits as well ‘cos we like photos. It will give us a better idea of what you have got yourself into
For the various bits and pieces of the bike this will help.

Re: gs550m
Do people do engine swaps on the smaller Kat's?
Like a 1990 Katana 600 engine and suspension? Oh, or better yet a 600 Bandit.....
Like how the big feline gets the big Bandit's motor and running gear....

Re: gs550m
Some do but most think it’s a waste of money and resources. Just buy a GS850/1000 at that point.
About the 550: I have regular 1984 GS550E I did a nut and bolt restoration on; if you need any pictures let me know

It's faster to break than to repair.

Beautiful XN. I've only seen one of those in the wild twice, once on a twisty road in Malibu and the 2nd was at the collector's stash when I bought my big Kat.
