Don't know if I ever met him., but sorry to hear....

You will have met him at EK in Ripon, easy to spot ...uncle fester , but a but thinner in recent years, spoke very good English, but pretended not to always to encourage beer talk German to be used
At EK1 in France where we met properly for the first used time used the term " Du Kanst ruich sagen" indicating we were friends and indeed the familiar term was OK to use with club members as we all family!
You know what, even shallow feeling *uckers like me are impacted sometimes and recent months is proving .
