Anyone seen the ace looking 750 Kat on ebay and know anything about it?

He says its a 1997 model, a pic of the V5 shows 1997 as the year of registration, but part of the reg you can see shows X reg,,,,, I know you can put an older reg on a bike but this is baffling me. It looks so good it might be nicer than the 11 I'm hankering after

anyone shed any light on this for me?

Very little info but would suspect its actually an import and has been 'registered' at date of importation but given an age related plate?? (Should say on the V5 "previously used and or registered overseas" normally)

The only other explanation would be its lay unsold for approx 15 years before being registered but in that case it should have a 1997 plate??

Simply DVLA putting on the paperwork what the registration filler in put on .

To be fair it's not obvious if you've note done it before ..
Date of manufacture and date of first registration ..but they mean in first country of registration , people put the date it is on the day of filling in , thinking when it is to be reg'd in UK.

A 1982 bike is a 1982 bike!

Remember this can't be a UK bike as it is a 750 ...we didn't get them!
This one is a 1982 X reg , it has snow flake wheels and solid pegs .....the Japanese script by the clock was where the 80 kph ( 50 mph ) warning light was situated.

In the real world a 750 Kat is revvier than the 1100 but not much different . Certainly not thousands of pounds different.
As per my post above ....we have pop ups registered as 1997 ......ten years after the last one was built!
