Stafford show
It’s Stafford classic bike show this weekend, is anyone going and does any club/forum member have a bike on show? I will probably be going on Saturday and I’ll be using the car as I don’t like leaving my bike in an unsecured muddy field

Re: Stafford show
This weekend would traditionally have been our rally, so we never did this Stafford as it not only clashed but is mainly Brit stuff ......I nearly posted from my soapbox, but thanks for the offer my man but I feel I will be busy.

Re: Stafford show
well interestingly, after a similar bout of apathy, the thumper club didnt do stafford last october, and its been noted in the club that they should do the show again this october and have more folk helping out rather than it just being left to one or two folk. and that kind of chimed with me. so, what do we think for october this year? as the two clubs have always shared bacony spac previously, how about joining up again, both having our own stands, but socialising together in the evenings? thoughts? opinions? im going anyway with them, whatever, but it will be nice to see the kat club back there. i mean ffs i might actually have a kat on the road by then........

Re: Stafford show
When you muted this a while ago John, I could be interested if We as in Graham's crowd and ourselves could get ourselves in enough numbers to make the social side worthwhile....remember when shared marquee space with breakfast, and Sunday roast aswell as BBQ evenings.
As for the best stands we did as in interesting for us were the ones we built something.
How about joining the 2 clubs with......... Your 250/650 thumper Kat .....you know we use a bench and finish it ......that'll just blow the widgets counters minds !

Re: Stafford show
Just to let you into our (Smand and I ) thought process re Stafford show.
Get the show plot in the hall, next to thumper club. Put 1 ridden to the show bike on it with Tamiya models of 1100 and Pop up on ours ..what ever the thumper club can source on theirs .........centre stage is a large TVscreen/ monitor, this is linked to a web cam .
The 2 clubs are actually in the "village" building this hybrid on a bench in a marquee/ shed we have there.
People could come along visit us watch and marvel at what clubs are for... Like minded people sharing ideas and knowledge.
We maybe have a volunteer at the stand answering question.....such as 13L
but also where we are situated.
Those visitors who really think they are visiting a museum and want to see perfect with the soul ripped out of them brought in on trailers bikes should be satisfied with the Tamiya models.
Health and safety kept at bay re tools etc as we are not in the halls.
We wouldn't have to listen to the chap who has a 650 in his shed .....still....etc. from people who will never want to be part of any club , but want the information / parts for nowt.
So we would have music , food , banter, and bikes ..beer after tools!..That sums up what a club should be.

Re: Stafford show

Re: Stafford show
yeah, its rank. how the fuck does a nation like austria which is landlocked and thus has no navy, end up making rum? go figure. i tried some the other week, you cant drink it. literally cant. if you swig it neat, the alcohol content is so high that it starts to evaporate off as soon as it hits the warmth of your mouth, and tbh its good for nothing but bragging rights about its high alcohol content, it has hardly any flavour and is really only suitable for mixing cocktails, which are girls drinks anyhow! they also make a 40 and 60 version which are probably more stable to drink, but theyre mixers really, and i like mine neat over ice.
ive probably got 20 or 25 different varietys of rum, i got into the habit of treating myself every couple of months to a nice bottle, not the stuff you get in the supermarkets mind, but some really nice carribean imports as well as more mundane stuff like krakken, which is ok, or dark matter, which is completely divine! a mix up on my birthday ended up with me getting 3 bottles of 12 year aged appleton estates rum which is one of the most drinkable rums to ever come from a bottle, but which i later discovered they had started selling in bloody tesco, oh the shame! but i developed a but of a thing for nice rum a few years ago and its in danger of becoming an obsession! i spend hours pouring over tasting notes and am trying to justify stuff with 3 digit pricetags! scary stuff.
