Watching this with interest as I have a very similar problem which I thought until recently was fuel but now considering the possibility of valves.

And what size main jets are standard? Should jets be changed when using aftermarket exhaust systems? Cheers.

Thanks fossie. Just got around to doing it tonight, spot on again!

It seems that the cam chain is getting a little noisy on my 650 but as far as I can tell the adjustment is automatic, does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? Maybe a stuck adjuster? Is this a common issue?

Thanks fossie. That was the problem, wire now routed correctly and bike starts. Just indicator issues now. As well as the forks, that is.

My clymer has six wiring diagrams but none in colour, does have the gx though. If it is thought to be correct then I will use it, the rest of the manual seems to be more for the standard gs or the custom model which made me wonder if there was a better option as far as wiring diagrams go. Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for a 81 gs650gx katana online? My clymer manual is pretty useless and I'm having some bother trying to start the beast after some refurbishment.
