Did my gs1000 last year/this year
The date in v5 was 15th January so they would do it as not ex but had to wait a year till it became Tax ex.
Was very easy just went to post office (that dose tax) gave them the v5 and v112 and they sorted it on there system.

Re: Dft following the EU
Can't see them being able to bring it in on anything than new bike's thow.
Like with the MOT they can only look at the exhaust output (can't spell the other word LOL) on newer bikes, as they can't say what it was from manufacturers.
Always get away with a loud exhaust on that one

Re: Just wondered ...
That's one very good question. I'd say the answer mite be, if the person selling or buying it thinks it's a collectable classic and they think say a gs550 with parts missing and not running is worth £995 as they think when it's restored it will be worth £4000 lol As to a lot of molested garbage out ...

Goop tyre sealant
Been using this stuff for years (it's the green stuff you put in your tyre and leave it in, by the way)
But the place I take my wheels to to have new tyres fitted, is tell me not to use it as it rots the wheel ?
Anybody had any bad experience with it or know whether it does rot the wheels?
Thanks

Re: E10 petrol use with 1980s Katanas
Never had any problem with leaving super unleaded fuel in any of my bikes, and that included months of non use thanks to a certain pandemic, just filled the tank to the brim, added some fuel fit fuel stabiliser, ran it for five minutes and walked away, apart from the battery needing a boost the bik...

Re: E10 petrol use with 1980s Katanas
I've used Silkolene Pro FST for years, started using it as I rode the bike all year round and it helped with the carb iceing but I'm not sure how well it will help with the E10 fuel? I'm hearing lots of people are saying not to leave the high octane fuel in the bike if not run for a week or two? Any...
