Re: Fueling issue

Problem solved ! the metal prong had been mangled & was the cause of the stiff tap operation, new original spec tap from Ebay & the problems solved.

Appreciate the info , I’d never have know the prong should have been present without it 👍

Re: Fueling issue

Cheers for the info, does anyone know where I can find an exploded drawing of the assembly online, the one i’ve found in the service manual doesn’t show a vacuum operated petcock / just the standard on/ off / reserve version.

Thanks in anticipation

Re: Fueling issue

Many thanks

I’ll work back from the fuel tap & see how it goes - I should have mentioned that the fuel tap is very stiff & a pliers is needed to turn it from on to reserve & back - have a strip down & see what’s happening, I may be back for advice later 😀

Fueling issue

Hi Guy Took the 1982 1100 Katana out for its 1st ride, it stared & ran perfectly ( in Prime position ) until I turned the fuel tap back to the On position. I've checked the vacuum pipe for connection issues or kinks but all seems good. As it runs perfectly in prime position does this point to fuel t...

Re: 1982 Katana 1100 LH switch

Great outcome - I managed to get a GSX1100EF LH switch on Ebay and the horn button fitted perfectly.
Not the easiest job to do but with a bit of patience & perseverance job done.

Thanks for the advice

Re: MPH conversion

Thanks Guys

Guess I was hoping for a miracle when I figured you'd have to pull the clock apart to replace the faceplate, as the one on my bike is in fantastic condition, I'm gonna leave well alone & just put indicators the relevant speeds as suggested.

Including 20mph as I'm in Wales !!

1982 Katana 1100 LH switch

Hi. Hoping for some help, the horn button is missing from the switchgear & the previous owner has fitted a stand alone horn button alongside presumably as he couldn’t get a new button . Does anyone know where I can obtain a replacement button from so that I can remove the bodged horn & return it to ...
