Clutch Problem
Hi, In the past, I asked for advice regarding my GSX1000SZ with the problem of engaging gear without the bike stalling or dragging badly. Its come to the point where I have run out of ideas and must admit that I am unable to resolve this problem. Can any suggest a garage/mechanic that would be able ...

Re: Katana clutch problem
Hi UB,
My engine number is GS10X-100617. The bike is a GSX1000SZ.
Stripped the clutch (again) today, I hope I can get it sorted, not be a good start to ownership.
Cheers

Re: Katana clutch problem
Hi Uncle Bob, Is the problem the bearing that fits into the Primary Driven Gear? There is a spacer and the bearing between the spacer and the primary driven gear. I checked the condition of one on my bike and all seemed good. What is John etc referring to when measuring this bearing? What exactly ar...

Re: Katana clutch problem
Hi Smallkat. I have parked to bike against the wall and left it stripped. Bought a NOS actuator, but think no difference. I think that I have all the correct parts, but cannot be 100% sure. Moving towards seeking an expert who can hopefully identify the problem and fix it for me. Been a shit 6 month...

Re: Katana clutch problem
Hi All, Someone in the past mentioned the wrong handlebar levers, I checked the parts list and all looked original. Process of elimination, the handlebar lever was next. Got a lever for an old GS and with a ting bit of fettling fitted. Now for the big moment! Bike running (off centre stand), clutch ...

Re: Katana clutch problem
Hi Johnr. The angle of the clutch actuator arm arrest is approximately parallel to the casing, similar to the photo that Blix sent me. As for the bar lever, in the past, I thought this, therefore, checked mine against the same part listed for my bike. Mine has a dog-leg, but so do the new ones liste...
