Computer says "no"
Had to renew the insurance today...you wouldn't believe how difficult it was to get anyone to understand that it's not a GS1000G, as DVLA have it listed as, but a GSX1000sz. Two companies even told me that model doesn't exist!! My log book gives the right model, so why can't the DVLA database get it...

That was sort of my feelings... I'll leave it be, but was curious why so far out..
Anyway, the rest of the bike is looking ok...

It's all about the timing
Ok....so I brought the bike out of the garage for a spruce up before the summer, as the weather has been looking more promising... I decided to put some new plugs in, change the oil and check the timing ( not done that bit since I don't know when). Now, here's the conundrum, the strobe light shows t...

Re: Anyone know the best tank liner?
I would agree with uncle Bob here, if it doesn't have any holes, just derust it. I use Scalex, it's basically industrial phosphoric acid, and converts the rust to an inert material which can be brushed off or painted over. Inside the tank you can either brush it on if you can reach the spot, or for ...

Re: Arctic Circle riding gear
My recommendations....A few years ago I rode through Chile and Argentina right down to Ushaia at the very bottom. I bought a pair of Forma Adventure boots for the trip, and they are the warmest, driesr and most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Still use them daily now, so would highly recommend th...

Rocker gasket
Sprung a bit of an oil leak on the rocker cover of my 1000...
Question...is the gasket the same as for an 1100??
I seem to remember something about a different number of bolt holes, but not sure??
Don't want to fork out for a while gasket set, just this duff one.
Thanks,
Bob....

Re: 1000/1100 Tyres
I've just put a new set of BT 46 on my 1000SZ, and quite like them, (they don't see any wet weather, so can comment on wet performance)...I had Avon roadrider on before, but they used to white line like buggery!

Re: Insurance...
So my Kat renewal is £176 on a classic policy with an agreed value of £5k, just out of interest what is the agreed value of yours as I think they are taking the piss a bit, my Busa is only £126 and that’s worth more than £5k, it will have NCD on it but still. Agreed value of £8k on my thousand...mi...
