Throttle bogging out

Post by blackdog » Fri May 06, 2011 11:24 am

Hi guys/gals
After some imput

My Kat 400 has just had a rebuild
I used the carbs from my other Kat (which I know worked)
So I've set them up with the carb tune
bottom fuel screw ' 2-3/4 turns out
reving nicely and returning as should
but when tacking it to the MOT tester's
she reves ok but a big flat spot in the middle reve range
The only thing that different between my two Kat's
is the I've got probs with has a straight through can fitted???????

Is there any adjustments to make
of tests I can do??????
Any advice gladly needed!

Si

400 very prone to carb set up.
The manual set up says 1'75 turns out for pilot screw. needle clip 3rd groove. However the straight through zorst may need a notch move on the needle clip.

that's one difference between the 2 Kats
the 1 thats bogging down has a new orignial air filter with fitted insert and straight through exhaust
and the other standard exhaust and no air filter insert fitted but that runs fine
