So a 44 year old track biased bike, unsurprisingly at low speed and low rpm it's dreadful.
As with any older 'tuned' bikes once you get above 6,000 rpm and grab it by the scruff to chuck into corners it's an absolute delight. The suspension stops feeling harsh and starts to feel planted, the engine starts to sing once the cam and oval bores are in harmony and it's time to enjoy. The 1000 engine is a different animal altogether when compared to the 1100 ET/EX engine.
I don't imagine I'll be doing much in the way of commuting on it.
