Hi, looking to replace the brake seals on my 400, had a look online at CMS and they want over £100, anyone know if they are same on another model?

RG250 , ZZR 400/600. Aftermarket kits are cheaper and unless you are doing daily milage it'll be fine .. They are 4 pot Tokico so will crud up over time anyway

( After dispatching a 400 for a few years they weren't my favourite servicing task')

Or just seals

The brakes on my 400 are crap despite a full rebuild with new pistons/seals and hours spent bleeding.
I'm currently using standard EBC pads, but I'm going to try some Goldfren 'competition' ones to see if I can get a bit more intial bite.

Mine are great

! I rebuilt with titanium pistons from Titan Classics. As Stainless are around £20-£25 each (so £80-£100 for just pistons), the titanium kit with 4 pistons, all seals, titanium bolts and nipples is £120 so I thought pretty good and sooooo light! The same front brakes as the RGV250 VJ21.

Scroll down to find the complete kit.
Go on, treat yourself, you're worth it!
I had a track day at Cadwell on the bike a couple of weeks after fitting and they worked really well - I have a few memorable late braking maneuvers to get past some bigger bikes I couldn't get past on the straight on the little 400.

The stainless Pistons do make the difference , and the rebuilding back to complete did make mine work , but after the 3rd pad change we were back to "anti lock" version. Just remember I was working the beast and that was 3 or 4 months ....repeat ,
There was 1 or 2 days I dispatched using just the rear brake as the front decided it was "one (piston ) out all out "
I even tried to retro fit 'proper 'Kat brakes because they are reliable ...
It's all down to saving a fraction of a penny on not fitting rubber boots over the Pistons to stop the crud ...

Hi, I got the seals for the RGV250 as suggested and have been told that they don’t fit

, think I have to get the bike home and see for myself. The garage was going to mot it so I thought they might as well do the brakes when they said it needed them.
Anyone used the RGV seal with success?
