Here's the link for the diy jacket / vest info

I actually used 6 metres of the stated wire wire which gave 3 ohms resistance = 65 watts of heat which will be very welcome on all but the warmest of our lovely inclement weather.

I wish I'd found/thought of this years ago !

No...Rumplestitskin was a magic elf who used a spinning wheel to turn straw onto golden thread.....Bit like you sitting at home weaving your magic....Ok sowing your heated jacket up then........... ;)

Do you not know your fairy tales Russ?

I have just got visions of the Rec reg going T*ts up and dumping all those DC volts through your electric vest........

If the reg rec went ti*s up the voltage would increase and mr ohm would do his magic and increase the current, as its drawing 4.75 amps to start with the 5 amp inline fuse would soon go pop and i'd get cold pretty quick .

Or on a fairy tale note I wouldnt fly too close to the sun and have my wings drop off like Icarus :D :D :D
